Do violent video games cause people to act out violently? Some people argue that video games have nothing to do with real life actions of people. While opponents think that video games teach and train people to act out those actions seen on the video games. While video games may cause people to act out violently, there is no reason to ban them however; there should be regulations on the age and content of the video games. The first major video game system was put into production I 1972 by Magnavox. The inventor of this system that was originally called â€Å"the brown box† was Ralph Baer. Baer â€Å"licensed the system to Magnavox. In 1972, Magnavox released the design as the Magnavox Odyssey, paving the way for all video game systems that followed.† (American History SI). The first game for the â€Å"Magnavox† was â€Å"light gun†. Over the next forty four years video gaming system and games have changed the world as we know it. Over the past sixteen years video games have become very realistic, almost real life. Some of these games like â€Å"Grand Theft Auto† are very graphic and have been blamed for the corruption of youth minds causing people to act out what is seen in the games. With the improvement of visual technology over the past ten years has made playing video games almost life like. Children and adults alike spend a vast majority of time playing these games. The more they play, the more addicted they become.
